Here I’m 22 years old, when I was addicted playing video games, GameCube was my favorite video-game hardware.
Today I thought I’d look back to my great memory of playing GC games and share some of my favorites.
Here you go, my top 12 favorite GC games!
(btw I’m a Japanese. If you notice any difference in what I’m saying, that’s possibly the localizing stuff.)
I am not really sure if this game got released out of Japan.
Almost 10 years before Minecraft, there was a game with the entire world built in boxed objects.
You start your life as a pig.
You fight, eat, and procreate the next generation, to pursue, to be the King of Beasts.
Unlikely the cute surface, the game is somewhat brutal and cruel.
A world where the weak are victims of the strong,
if it’s nature’s way.
11.Doshin the Giant
Genre:God game(LOL that’s what they said)
Originally released for 64DD in 1999.
Later Nintendo re-released with graphic changes.
Game is pretty much ‘open world game’.
You can see the ending by building all the objects but other than that,
all you do is creating your own island as you wish.
With your extraordinary power, you can create sea, hills, mountain that reaches the sky.
Or destroy everything with the demon power.
That’s why they call ‘God game’.
10. Tales of Symphonia
To be very honest, I’m more likely Final Fantasy person.
But THIS game was amazing.
Characters are all cute with that 4 heads high body.
Not to mention the awesome opening song.
Later it’s got localized for PS2 and PS3.
Also ToS Knight of Ratatosk(Dawn of the New World) was released for Wii. The story is 2 years later from the original scenario.
9.Naruto Gekito Ninja Taisen 3
Apparently not all of the series got localized in English.
Although in my opinion, this one was the best balanced Ninja Taisen series of all.
Not so complicated, not too many characters, but still a lot of main characters were in there.
It was pretty easy to play.
I could invite my friends to play together.
Just 10 mins of practice was enough to enjoy this game together.
I used to use Shikamaru a lot.
Oh yeah, do I need to explain what kind of game this is?
The theme song explains pretty much everything.
Ai No Uta(Song of Love)
今日も 運ぶ 戦う 増える そして食べられる
We get pulled out, we follow you
Today once again we’ll carry, fight, multiply and get consumed.
ほったかされて また会って 投げられて
Abandoned again, meet again, thrown away again
But we will devote, dedicate ourselves to you, and follow you forever.
7.Resident Evil 4
For Resident Evil series, this one was turning point for their history.
I would like the old type of RE when the camera was set at certain place,
a lot of puzzles, managing the bullets and sometimes avoid fighting.
At that point, I’d call this game ‘action shooting’ or TPS game, sort of.
But not gonna lie, it was a fun game to play.
6.Kirby Air Ride
Am I the only one awaiting for Kirby Air Ride 2??
There was a rumor and leak pictures back to when Wii was released,
but never been out to public since then.
From time to time, you might have played with your brothers and sisters on Saturday evening.
My favorite was Jet Star.
The very first Animal Crossing was released for Nintendo 64 in Japan but seemingly this one is the first sequel released in other countries(?)
I’ve played all of the Animal Crossing series, so far I’d think this one is most played one of all.
What was amazing: FAMILY COMPUTER
4.Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
I’ve played most of FE series.
I can’t really decide if I’d call this one my favorite or Genealogy of the Holy War.
Which means, this game was that good.
GBA FE were a little disappointments for me.
(Didn’t mean to offend fans. Personal opinion.)
The graphic enormously evolved, so did the motions.
All the characters have their own graphics, and remains old systems.
Also, these, guys, are, so, hawt.
3.Super Smash Bros Melee(Known as DX in Japan)
I guess I don’t need any word for this game.
Can’t wait for the new Smosh Bros.
I used Marth a lot. What was your pick?
2.Legend of Zelda : The Wind Waker
I loved Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask like everyone else does.
Well, maybe I guess I like Ocarina of Time better.
Even such a big title, still this graphic change was very risky.
Turned out very successful title in the market.
I didn’t like Link’s cat-like eyes but I love big fat Ganondorf in this game.
Was it tiring or you found it amusing to travel across the sea and salvage the treasure?
I stayed at Wind Temple very long time just because I loved playing as this little chunk.
1.Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
Developer:GameDesign Studio, Square Enix
If you haven’t played this game, I’m so sorry, for missing this amazing game.
The music, interface, the world, effects, and characters.
Everything was very beautiful.
It is literally like living in a fairy tale world.
Also loved the system of building my own character.
Each race has different benefits and weakness.
I basically played with Clavat and Lilty.
If you had enough friends to play with, this game would be much exciting unless you volunteer to carry the cage around.
Sad thing about this game is that following FFCC series were ended up as major disappointments.
What GC games were your favorite??
Weren’t those games amazing??
"Nihilism? Sounds depressing."
Okay, some of my friends mistakenly think that nihilism is depressive.
There’s a side of nihilism which is pretty much depressing that is called pessimism.
In the first place, major nihilism philosophy is
